ATA Portfolio Company: OpenSpan

Here is a short, but good, article on Openspan.  Francis Carden is the CEO and is also a member of ATA. OpenSpan’s initial team was put together at a lunch Francis and I had together at Eno back in the winter of 2005. Francis had been dabbling in real estate  (and was getting somewhat tired of visiting real estate sites) and was looking to get involved again in a young technology oriented start-up company. Coincidentally, I had just met with Stephen Beckett (formerly at Witness Systems) who had put together a new integration software product. I put the two together and, long story short, Openspan was formed. Openspan was initially funded by the Atlanta Technology Angels and Inlay Investments and was subsequently picked up by Matrix Partners (Jboss) and Sigma Partners (TradeX). Francis will be giving an update at the February ATA meeting.
