Pardon the frankness, but the one unifying feature that I can see among those companies is really awful web design.
Not that looks are everything, but they represent a certain… carelessness… from the founders.

Well, we certainly appreciate your frankness. My reponse would be that the founders are busy building a *company*, not just a website.
