Yet another article about VC’s complaining about the clueless “angel investors”. This time, however, the angels were watching.
Make sure to read the repsonses by yours truly and Luis Villalobos. Luis is the founder of the Tech Coast Angels, winner of this year’s (2007) Hans Severiens award, former BOD member of the Angel Capital Association and a successfull entrepreneur.
Of course, reporters love to help create this animosity between angels and VC’s. The truth, however, is that most sophisticated angel groups and the VC’s they invest with get along very well. The VC’s in this particular panel just came across as….dated.
The lesson? The Angel Capital Association now has 140 member groups throughout the US and Canada. We’re organized and we talk to each other all the time….
